The Lower East Side Partnership (LESP) is responsible for marketing and economic development initiatives that are designed to improve overall quality of life conditions on the Lower East Side.
We regularly partner with locally based community organizations and institutions in order to increase exposure and drive foot traffic to merchants, cultural, and community facilities that act as the anchor institutions for our neighborhood. In addition, we also provide merchant support services, such as small business grants.
We act as a liaison, providing general assistance and direct support with permitting and other matters relating to city agencies for the Lower East Side’s small business community. We also work closely with the Essex Street Market Vendor Association and head up the 100 Gates Project, a public art project that aims to connect artists with businesses.
