Here’s a reminder about the memorial for Al Orensanz, the longtime director of the Angel Orensanz Center. It will be held tomorrow evening from 6-8.

Orensanz died during the summer at 74. The community event will include speakers from a broad cross-section of the Lower East Side and the larger New York community. Orensanz was not only instrumental in the preservation of the Anshe Chesed Synagogue, one of the neighborhood’s most significant historic sites, but was a big supporter of local artists. Many of them will be on hand for an evening that’s been billed, “A Continuing Conversation,” in memory of Al Orensanz.

The event takes place at the Orensanz Center, 172 Norfolk St. If you would like to attend, please RSVP here.
