–A suspect, Francis Salud, was arrested in connection with the slashing incident on East 6th Street, Channel 7 reports.

–Sheldon Silver’s attorneys have filed documents seeking his acquittal or retrial on federal corruption charges, reports the New York Times. “The government’s case hinged on speculative inferences and circumstantial evidence that fell woefully short of satisfying its burden,” the lawyers wrote.

–The Real Estate Board of New York threw its annual party last night, with the governor, mayor, Manhattan Borough President and many other politicos in attendance. The Real Deal noted: “A small group of protesters had waited outside at the beginning of the gala, greeting guests with hoots and riling against a host of development issues, including upzoning, Extell Development’s Lower East Side project at 250 South Street (a placard described it as the ‘building from hell’).”
