Here are some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:
–The New Museum is usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But since it’s a holiday week, they’ll be open both today and tomorrow from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.. Take a look at the exhibitions on view, including, “Jim Shaw: End of Days,” which closes January 10.
–Jazz pianist Brad Mehldau and songwriter Chris Thile (Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers, J .S. Bach and now Prairie Home Companion) team up for tonight’s performance at Bowery Ballroom. 10:30 p.m., $40.
–Sandra Bernhard continues her New Year’s week run at Joe’s Pub. “Feel the Bernhard” offers two performances tonight at 7:30 and 9:30. Ticket info here.
–Guitarist/composer Jim Campilongo is back at Rockwood Music Hall for his regular Monday gig at 10:30 p.m.
–Four writers, all University of New Hampshire MFA Grads, will read from their new works at KGB Bar, 45 East 4th St., at 7 p.m.
