Here are some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:
–A familiar face on the LES, Rocker Jesse Malin, plays Bowery Ballroom tonight with a preview of his next album, “Outsiders.” 9 p.m., $25. Velvet Elk, his label, is also hosting a holiday benefit show in support of the Bowery Mission.
–Amore Opera, an offshoot of the dearly departed Amato Opera, will be performing “Hansel & Gretel” today and tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Loreto Theater, 18 Bleecker St. Ticket info here.
–At Upright Citizens Brigade East, it’s “Two Beers In,” a political roundtable discussion in which each participant must consume two beers on stage before speaking. This event is hosted by Cody Lindquist and Charlie Todd. Panelists include the journalist Pat Kiernan and the comedians Zhubin Parang and Neil Casey, with a special appearance by Anthony Atamanuik as Donald Trump. 8 p.m., 153 East 3rd St. More info here.
