Some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:
–After yesterday’s drama in the jury room (see below), the jurors in Sheldon Silver’s federal corruption trial will be back for a second day of deliberations. They could break for the holiday at noon or choose to keep trying to reach a verdict into the afternoon hours.
–At the Bowery Mission, they’re making final preparations to feed up to 7,000 meals for Thanksgiving. The historic Lower East Side organization has put out an urgent call for cash donations as well as contributions of food and clothing. More info here.
–The Lower East Side Ecology Center’s compost drop-off is up and running until 11 a.m. at East Broadway and Rutgers streets.
–The Main Squeeze, the popular funk, soul and rock band, plays Bowery Ballroom at 9 p.m. $15.
–Ivy, Beck and Neill, the modern country group, will perform at Joe’s Pub tonight at 7:30 p.m. $12.
—Gandhi: Is That You, the weekly comedy show at Lucky Jack’s happens tonight at 9 p.m. 129 Orchard St. Free.
