
A few Lower East Side Halloween happenings:
–This afternoon from 3-6 p.m., the Children’s Magical Garden is throwing their annual Halloween Party. There will be music, hot cocoa, food (including sandwiches from Tiny Giant), pumpkin painting, games and, of course, “super heroes, elves and spirits under the apple trees!” The garden is located at 129 Stanton St. (at Norfolk St.)
–Saturday is the Hester Street Fair’s Halloween Fest. There will be kids’ activities, including face painting, pumpkin decorating and trick-or-treating from booth to booth. More information here.
–Tomorrow at La Plaza Cultural Community Garden, there will be a kids’ Halloween party, from 5-7 p.m. Attractions include: a laboratory of horrors, a fortune teller, a slime tent and treats. At 4 p.m., there will also be “Spooky Storytime” in the witch’s gazebo. The garden is located at 9th Street and Avenue C.
–At Teatro Sea, it’s the final weekend for “Skeletons … A Day of the Dead Bedtime Story.” The children’s theatrical production tells the story of Jimmy, a boy saddened by the loss of his grandfather. Grandpa comes back to life for one day, taking the boy on a fantastic and meaningful journey. Tomorrow and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center. –Tomorrow, Cake Shop is bringing back their annual Halloween Tribute Night. Acts include: Parlor Walls as Wire, Stringer as The Smiths, Dirty Dishes as Stone Temple Pilots, Death to Slater as Bruce Springsteen’s 2 Piece Band, The Regrets as Blondie, Hellbirds as The Ramones and Oh Golly as Violent Femmes.
