A local organization, Five Points Runners Track Club, is holding a registration and wellness clinic to launch its fourth season this coming Saturday.

The event takes place at P.S. 134 (293 East Broadway) from 10 a.m. to noon. It’s a chance for new and returning athletes to register for the fall season. Newcomers will be able to take part in a varied workout program led by trained coaches (there’s a $10 fee which can be applied to registration).

Here’s more about the club:

Since its establishment by Lydia Vanderloo and John Wiltshire, two experienced coaches, in the summer of 2012, Five Points Runners has grown from a small local fitness and athletic club to a strong competitor on the New York City stage as well as at the Regional and National level. The primary focus of the club has always been to give children the opportunity to train and compete in track, field and long distance events. The club welcomes children of all abilities from grade 2 through high school and its primary goal is to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect while engaged in athletic activity.
