It’s time for Summerstage to come to the Lower East Side. This week, the City Parks Foundation kicks off a series of free performances in the bandshell at East River Park. Here’s the lineup over the next few days:
- Tomorrow night, it’s salsa legend Tito Nieves. The Puerto Rican-born and New York-raised hit maker of the 80s and 90s is still going strong. It will be his first appearance in the LES open-air venue.
- Wednesday, Harlem-based hip hop crew RATKING and the young rapper/producer Bishop Nehru take the stage.
- Thursday Caribou (aka Dan Snaith) is the featured performer, along with soul artist Sinkane.
- Sarah Jones, the Tony and Obie Award winning playwright and performer, will introduce you to her cast of distinctive New York characters on Friday. The evening is a production of the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m. You can see the full Summerstage lineup here.
