Let’s get caught up on the Lower East Side food scene:
Good news to start the week. EV Grieve notes that B&H Dairy might be able to reopen in about a week.
Last week, the Times ruined everything (well maybe that’s a little dramatic) by anointing Mr. Fong’s New York’s latest “unlikely ‘It’ bar.” Matthew Schneider writes of the watering hole at the corner of Madison and Market streets, “The owners are striving to make it a neighborhood joint, but so far, it’s the fashion industry that has made it a destination.”
ICYMI, Pete Wells in the Times was wowed by the inventive vegetarian-centric menu at El Rey.
Gothamist has photos from the ice cream social at the Hester Street fair on Saturday.
mr. fong’s is a slap in the face to chinatown. get that sh*t outta here
Does Mr. Fong’s have a liquor license? If so, when was it approved?
Times review could not be any douchie IMO.
