This summer the Two Bridges Neighborhood Council has been celebrating its 60th anniversary on the Lower East Side.
The organization, founded in 1955, has its roots in community activism and is best known for the redevelopment of the Two Bridges Urban Renewal Area. On June 24, 200 supporters came to the Manny Cantor Center to acknowledge the big occasion. On that evening, Two Bridges honored Natalie Weinthal of Grenadier Realty Corp., Settlement Housing Fund (the co-sponsor of the urban renewal plan) and Thomas Hill of Boston Properties.
