In the Post, Wylie explains that he’ll be helping to train the staff when his dad, Wylie, opens a sandwich shop at 37 Clinton St. later in the summer. One offering will be an outlandish creation made with “layers of tuna, extra-virgin olive oil, black-olive spread, marinated artichokes, tomato, capers, red onion and hard-boiled egg slices, carefully stacked on sesame bread from Chinatown’s Prosperity Dumpling.”
EV Grieve says Pushcart Coffee is opening a new location on 3rd Avenue near East 12th Street.
Eat.With.com is hosting some p[op-up meals at the Essex Street Market. This coming Saturday and Sunday, for example, Rafa, who cooks at Root & Bone, plans to recreate the Jewish-Mexican breakfasts he remembers from his childhood in New Mexico. You can find out more about the event here.
The rapper Nas is teaming up with Sweet Chick, which has locations on the Lwer East Side and in Williamsburg, for a national expansion.
