We want to thank everyone who’s responded so generously since we launched our Small Business Survival campaign yesterday. We are off to a great start. This project will be devoted to comprehensive coverage of a critical issue on the Lower East Side, but it’s also about supporting our neighborhood businesses with a Buy Local campaign. This afternoon, we’re pleased to announce that the 10002 ZipCard, an organization devoted to “keeping it local,” has joined as our first Community Business Partner.
The ZipCard (and accompanying mobile app) is a home grown loyalty program that offers people on the Lower East Side special deals from a growing selection of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. Becoming a ZipCard member is a great way to show your support for local businesses and to save money at the same time.
If you’re a business and want to join the program, they’re offering free membership. Just follow this link and mention “Small Business Survival Campaign” in the message section. For residents, basic membership is free. Black cards, offering deeper discounts and access to special events, will be made available to anyone who donates $100 or more to our campaign (1 year subscription).
