Today we’re excited to kick off a crowdfunding campaign for our yearlong reporting initiative focused on small business survival. We’ll be tackling this critical issue with a series of comprehensive reports, a Buy Local Campaign, profiles of beloved businesses and interviews with community leaders.
Independent businesses – both old and new – are the heart and soul of the Lower East Side, but they are endangered. This project will investigate the best solutions to sustain them as our community continues to transform at a dizzying pace. To make it happen, though, we need your help. Your ideas, local knowledge, perspectives and financial support will make sure we can give the initiative the depth and resources it deserves.
