Lower East Side Film Fest

The Lower East Side Film Festival has announced its full lineup for their upcoming array of screenings, local parties and industry events to be held June 11th – 21st. Heading into their fifth year, the unique festival occurs over ten nights in different, and often surprising, venues throughout the L.E.S. — including the popular “Gay Night! Rooftop Pool Party and Dive-in Movie” at 60 LES.

The opening night film, Life In Color, a debut film from Katharine Emmer, is dubbed as a dramedy with Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead) and Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation). The closing night feature will be A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story, which won the documentary spotlight audience award at SXSW.

The festival screens features, shorts, music videos and offers free industry panels.  This year they are touting a special Lasagna Night – Filmmaker Reception. With the focus on great creative filmmaking made on a dime, the lineup is thoughtfully curated — maintaining a fun and intimate screening experience for both audience and filmmakers alike. This year it includes eleven New York premieres, four world premieres, two North American premieres and three U.S. premieres.

The Lower East Side Film Festival runs through June 21. Tickets are $12.50, showtimes and venues vary. Go here for tickets.
