If the forecast is to be believed, Saturday is shaping up as a nice spring day. So the sun will likely be shining on the Hester Street Fair, which is kicking off its sixth season on the Lower East Side.

There will be more than 20 food vendors for the opening day “International Food Fest.” Among the global treats available this weekend: Taiwanese-inspired oyster pancakes from Kaya NYC, Korean fried chicken sandwiches from the Red Star Sandwich Shop, Egyptian grilled cheese and lamb meatball sandwiches and Lobster rolls from Luke’s Lobster.

On the fashion front, Terri Gillis’s dearly departed Lower East Side boutique, TG-170, makes a comeback at the Hester Street Fair Saturday. Also, you can also get your own pet portrait by Wandering Laur Fine Art. For a full lineup, click here.

The fair will be Saturday only this year, although some evening events will be announced sometime soon. Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the intersection of Hester and Essex streets.
