Looks like it’s going to be a gorgeous fall weekend for outdoor activities. Lower East Side Pickle Day might already be on your calendar. But there’s also “It’s My Park Day,” happening in various locations throughout the neighborhood.
At Luther Gulick Park on Willett Street, there will be bulb planting, pumpkin painting, crafts and snacks Sunday from 1-4 p.m. The Friends of Gulick Park have plenty to celebrate. This past month, the mayor awarded $2 million on top of $6 million that had already been raised for the park’s rehabilitation.
On Saturday, there will be gardening and cleanup activities going on in Columbus Park (9:30 a.m.-noon), First Park (10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and Sara D. Roosevelt Park/M’Finda Kalunga Community Garden (noon–4 p.m.)
