Ubiquitous property owner Jared Kushner will be the subject of a news conference/protest today outside 170-174 East 2nd St. (Council member Rosie Mendez/press release).

Some of Andrew Cuomo’s biggest financial backers have been awarded state grants. Among them: BFC Partners, one of three developers teaming up to build Essex Crossing on the Lower East Side. The firm won $3.5 million last year to build Empire Outlets on Staten Island. A spokesman for the governor says any claims that there’s a conflict of interest are “absurd.” (Daily News)
