Beginning this week, you can stop by the GrowNYC farmers’ market, on the corner of Grand and Pitt streets, to stock up your fridge and support local farms and youth employment. Along with offering the freshest produce from farms just outside the city, the program partners with the Henry Street Settlement to teach basic business and customer service skills to neighborhood youth.
The market will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. every Thursday from July 10 to Nov. 20. In addition to cash, it accepts food stamps, WIC and FMNP coupons, as well as credit and debit cards.
