Look for sunny skies today and a high of 29.

On our radar today, the long-delayed escalator replacement project at the East Broadway station.  Will the MTA finally finish the job, which according to its “system outage” web page, is targeted for completion tomorrow?  If the agency misses another deadline, look for local elected officials and local activists to start making some more noise.

Also today, State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and State Senator Daniel Squadron come to Chinatown to call for a Lunar New Year holiday.

We’ll have an update on what’s happening at the historic Jarmulowsky Bank Building, which is being restored and converted into a boutique hotel.

And here’s a reminder from our Calendar: Obamacare for Artists, a special workshop tonight tells you everything you need to know.
