If you haven’t had the chance to see George Hirose’s stunning photos of the neighborhood’s community gardens at night, now’s your chance.
Over the summer, we profiled Hirose’s exhibition (Magic Gardens) at Bloom Projects on East 7th Street. Now, a larger selection of photographs depicting the unique character of the East Village’s many community gardens is on display at the 14th Street Y. The next two Sundays at 3 p.m. George, a longtime local resident, will be leading gallery tours. The show closes December 31. The 14th Street Y is located at 344 East 14th Street. Here’s our earlier story if you didn’t see it the first time around.
