Chin Declares Victory

A short time ago, City Council member Margaret Chin proclaimed victory in the District 1 City Council race. With nearly 90% of the vote counted, she had about 7600 votes, while challenger Jenifer Rajkumar had about 5400 votes. The campaign is confident it will collect more than 8000 votes before the night is over. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver stood by Chin’s side as she thanked supporters. More to come…
