This coming Saturday, the M’Finda Kalunga Garden in Sara D. Roosevelt Park will be celebrating Juneteenth. The holiday, celebrating the end of slavery, takes place tomorrow, June 19th. The Lower East Side festivities, from noon- 4 p.m., will include readings, poetry, arts and crafts, and performances by a drumming and dance group called Kalunga. The garden is on Rivington Street, at Chrystie.
