The Chinatown YMCA is sponsoring a free “healthy kids day” tomorrow.   The national initiative features activities like “Family Zumba,” a demonstration class featuring Imagination Playground blocks, a Veggiecation cooking class, “Teen Boot Camp,” and a concert by the Bilingual Birdies Band with songs in English and Mandarin.  There will also be Hula lessons and outdoor play activities including jump rope and hopscotch.  The event takes place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 273 Bowery.  Chinatown YMCA Executive Director Jeanette Corey says, “we know parents struggle to keep their kids physically and intellectually active every day. We want to help ensure fewer kids are at risk of childhood obesity and more kids excel in school,” said Jeannette Corey, Executive Director of the Chinatown YMCA.
