A mural from artist James Ewing, part of Art Production’s “After Hours 2: Murals on the Bowery,” which will run through September 29, 2013 in conjunction with the IDEAS CITY Festival 2013.

The Art Productions Fund (APF) is partnering with the New Museum again for this year’s “After Hours 2: Murals on the Bowery.”  APF selected fourteen artists and one artist from an open-call submission to design site-specific murals for the steel roller shutters of commercial supply shops lining the Bowery, between East Houston and Grand Streets. The “show” will run through Sept. 29th and is in conjunction with the museum’s upcoming IDEAS CITY festival. There’s more about this series from the NY Times here. It’s a great public art project and you can check it out any time – after hours that is.
