A short time ago, the City Council’s land use committee approved the Seward Park Mixed Use Development Plan. City Council member Margaret Chin won several new concessions from the city, including a commitment to build more affordable housing on a separate parcel on Spring Street. The city also agreed to set aside space for a new public school and to pay relocation expenses for Essex Street Market vendors. A final vote of the full Council is scheduled next month.
