School Yard on Stanton Street is Getting a Makeover

Must Read

Improvements are happening before a new school moves in.

The open lot behind Our Lady of Sorrows, the Catholic elementary school at 219 Stanton Street that closed last year, has been getting roughed up over the past few days. The fence that normally surrounds the lot on the corner of Ridge Street is being replaced, and contractors are working to shore up the ground, which was plagued by sinkholes.

According to Pastor Tom Faiola, a new private school for disabled children will be moving into the vacated school building, so improvements are being made before the start of the new school year. He said the work would likely be completed by the end of the week. We’ll definitely have more word later on the new school…
