The Hester Street Fair is getting into the spirit of the Summer Games. They threw a big Olympics-themed party last week at “Hester Nights” (held at the Eventi Open Air Plaza in Chelsea) and will do the same tonight. The festivities head back downtown on Saturday, when the original Lower East Side version of the fair gets in on the action. There will be corn-on-the-cob and bbq rib eating contests, plus ping pong tournaments, burlap sack races and photo booths. For more info and the full vendor lineup, check out Hester Street Fair’s web site.
