The City Parks Foundation has released new details about the Two Boots 25th Anniversary Concert, taking place next month at the East River Bandshell. The August 23rd event, the high point of the restaurant’s year-long celebration, is part of SummerStage. The concert will feature the African pop band — the Sierra Leone Refugee All-Stars.
There will be other performances from Mamarazzi, Odetta Hartman, Himalayas and The Wiskheyhickon Boys as well as Lady Circus and the Magic Beans. Also included in the celebration: live painting by Free Art Society and 4Heads Art Collective, poetry from the Nuyorican Poet’s CafĂ© and the City Lore/Bowery Poetry Club’s POEMmobile, along with the Homespun Mini-Merry-Go-Round. Plus there will be free samples of Two Boots pizza.
Two Boots has been a fixture as both a restaurant and an arts venue on the Lower East Side since 1987. For more info about the concert, click here.
