Landbrot Bakery’s LES Location Opening Tomorrow

Must Read

Landbrot, a purveyor of German breads and beers, says its new LES location is "more bar than bakery."

The owners of long-delayed Germany bakery Landbrot have finally set an opening date for their store at 185 Orchard St.: tomorrow.

The West Village “flagship” location opened this spring, but the LES location was beset with “construction issues,” according to Landbrot’s PR reps, who gave us an update last month. If you’re wondering about the difference between the two venues, here’s what owners Volker Herrman and David Rothe have to say about the Orchard Street outpost on Landbrot’s website: “Landbrot LES is more bar than bakery. Open until 4AM Friday and Saturdays, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy late-night drinks and bites.”

Here are some details on tomorrow’s event, via the bakery’s Facebook page:

OPENING OF SECOND LOCATION !!!!!!! We are proud to announce the opening of our second location on the Lower East Side on next Thursday, June 14th at 5 p.m.! Many have waited for a long time, including us :-), but now it´s becoming real! We would love to see you there for a beer, wine, Schnitzel or one of our other delicious specialities! Come and enjoy!

  1. So how the fuck did it get approved if it’s more “bar than bakery”.  So sick of this.

  2. Agreed.  I was actually looking forward to a BAKERY, which would be very useful for residents, not another bar catering to nightlife transients.
