Coming up Friday night, June 15th, the New Museum will be putting on its first ever Teen Night. There will be live music, gallery conversations, button making and lots of other activities. Teens will also have the opportunity to tour exhibitions by Phyllida Barlow, Klara Lidén, and Carlos Motta. Plus performance artist, poet, and hip-hop musician Mykki Blanco (accompanied by DJ Physical Therapy) will be in the 7th floor Sky Room. The evening is free for teens between the ages of 14 and 19 (high school or government id required).
We also wanted to mention that the museum’s “First Saturdays for Families” is on hiatus for the summer. But there’s a big family event coming up next month: the New Museum’s Block Party on Saturday, July 21st. We’ll have more on that later.
