People have been talking about it in the Essex Street Market for a few months. Yesterday the New York Times got the official word: cookbook author Dorie Greenspan and her son Josh have rented a stall in the market. It’ll be a cookie shop called Beurre & Sel. They’ll also have a location in La Marqueta, another city-owned market facility in Harlem. They hope to be up-and-running by late summer.

This is the best news I’ve heard all day!! (Somehow I missed it in the Times, even though I read the food section, or so I thought.) Â I love Dorie! Â Her books, and lately her app — which has truly improved my pastry cream by at least 1000 percent!!
