The New Museum just wrapped up its 2012 Triennial, but they’re already preparing for the 2015 rendition of the international exhibition focused on emerging artists. Yesterday, the museum announced that adjunct curator and Rhizome Director Lauren Cornell, along with artist Ryan Trecartin, will curate the next triennial.
Cornell is stepping down from Rhizome, after seven years leading the new media project (the search for a new executive director is underway). Notably, she helped develop “Younger Than Jesus,” the first triennial. It included an elaborate “multi-channel” installation by Trecartin.  “Considering Cornell’s background and the choice of Trecartin as a curatorial partner,” Artinfo observed yesterday, “it’s likely that the 2015 triennial will take on a new media bent.”
This year’s triennial, “The Ungovernables” closed last weekend.
