JON MCLAUGHLIN – Sat Nov. 26 | 8pm at the Bowery Ballroom
Not to be confused with jazz guitarist John McLaughlin, Jon with no ‘h’ writes and records hearty pop-rock songs that have found their way into numerous films, television shows and commercials over the years; he was nominated for an Oscar in 2008. Illogic – Sat Nov. 26 | 8pm at the Mercury Lounge
Hip Hop artist Illogic busted out of Columbus, OH back in 1999 and has maintained a loyal fan-base with his deft writing and energetic live shows ever since. More than a decade later, and admittedly in a very different place in his life and career, Illogic’s latest recording, “Diabolical Fun,” shows a more centered, brighter side of the artist. $10// 217 E Houston St.
