During the summer we told you about Local Spokes, a Lower East Side and Chinatown bicycling coalition. In the next few weeks, the group is planning several “visioning sessions” to better understand how people, especially those in diverse communities, see bicycling in New York City.
The first meeting takes place Wednesday (in English and Spanish) at the Boys and Girls Republic, at 6 p.m. Other sessions will be held November 2nd and November 15th. More info available here.
Coalition members include: Asian Americans for Equality, Good Old Lower East Side, Green Map System, Hester Street Collaborative, Recycle-A-Bicycle, Times Up!, Transportation Alternatives, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council and Velo City.
