Open Call For The Lo-Down’s CMJ Showcase at Fontana’s, Oct. 18th!

Must Read

The Lo-Down is teaming up with Fontana’s on Eldridge Street to put on an October CMJ concert showing off the best of what the Lower East Side has to offer.

The Lower East Side has always been a fountain of musical talent. From Irving Berlin to The Velvet Underground to Lady Gaga — our neighborhood has inspired songs like Suzanne Vega’s “Ludlow Street” and “The Luckiest Guy On The Lower East Side” by The Magnetic Fields.

The LES continues to foster amazing, homegrown talent to this day. And now, as we fill the schedule for this showcase with some of our favorite Lower East Side musicians and bands, we are keeping one slot open for that very special, undiscovered gem of the LES. COULD IT BE YOU??

We are currently taking submissions from bands, musicians and performers who have a distinct connection to the Lower East Side. Were you born on  Orchard Street and play in an awesome rock band? Do you volunteer at the Hester Street Fair and are a jazz sax prodigy? Are you an MC who has been rapping south of Houston for the last 8 years? We want to hear from you!!

Send us an email at ken@thelodownny.com, with the name of your group, the style of music, and web links or mp3 files. We will be making a decision soon, so be sure to enter TODAY!
