Good Morning!

Must Read

More shoes bound for Delancey Street.

The heat wave intensifies today, with temperatures expected to flirt with three digits. There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. The forecast for tomorrow drops the mercury slightly, to the high 80s.

There’s been a lot of news on Delancey Street this week: Above, workers prepared to hang a new sign for a new Payless Shoes store at 130 Delancey. A few blocks west, construction crews labored to renovate the building at 95 Delancey, which we learned yesterday will be converted to an enormous, three-story bar. Also on Delancey yesterday, advocates from Transportation Alternatives held a press conference at the intersection with Essex Street to demand action on improving bicycle and pedestrian safety in the city. We’ll have a story on that later today, as well as our music picks and other weekend fun.
