The $750,000 Parking Study is a sham!!! Â Sadik-Khan does not even MENTION chronic parking placard abuse at all!! Â I have seen cars with parking placards (Court Officers are the worst) park in the same spot for YEARS with no problem from TE officers. Â Traffic Enforcement officers are routinely told to give placarded cars a pass – this is WRONG!! What is Sadik-Khan doing about this chronic blight on Chinatown – it’s bad for business, local people cannot park and tourists cannot park and shop, it bad for Chinatown’s quality of life, AND, NYC loses over $50-million a year in lost parking meter revenue due to illegal parking placard abuse. Â I cannot believe that Parking Placard Abuse is not even MENTIONED in the $750,000 Chinatown Curbside Parking Study – This DOT commissioner really needs to wake up!!!
