Broadway.com is reporting the upcoming series of concerts at Abrons, featuring two Broadway heavies – Jason Robert Brown and Anika Noni Rose, will be filmed by PBS. The air date is yet to be determined. Tony Award-winning composer Brown is bringing his solo show downtown for three nights, April 28-30. The concerts will feature Rose along with an eight-piece band, performing songs from Brown’s acclaimed musicals (such as Songs for a New World, Parade, The Last Five Years, and 13) as well as his solo albums and upcoming projects. Brown is a Tony winner for the 1998 musical Parade. His other shows include 13 and off-Broadway’s Songs for a New World and The Last Five Years.
Rose received a Tony Award for her performance in Caroline, or Change. Her other Broadway credits include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Footloose. Her film credits include movie musicals Dreamgirls, The Princess and the Frog and From Justin to Kelly. She is currently featured in TV’s The Good Wife and has also appeared in The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency and The Starter Wife.
