Live Multimdeia Piece – the horror the horror – Comes to Abrons

Must Read

A special live sound/video/performance “spectacle,” the horror the horror (i have plenty of energy to drive over there), is taking over the Playhouse at the Abrons Arts Center this weekend. Created and performed by Shaun Irons, Lauren Petty, Madeline Best and Brian Rogers, this unique and fully improvised piece first appeared at the 2010 Movement Research Fall Festival.

The production incorporates a live dancer with live and processed imagery, electronic, and acoustic music and audio sources ranging from Mel Gibson to Marlon Brando. Using multiple large scale video projections, surround sound, and the exposed proscenium of the Playhouse the performance will “spin a gothic meditation on American pop culture and the personal obsessions of madmen.” Seating will be in the balcony only.  $15 // March 31-April 2 // 8 pm // 466 Grand.
