Our friends at the Lower Eastside Girls Club are asking everyone they know to go online and vote for their Co-Founder and Executive Director, Lyn Pentecost, who has been nominated for a Diane von Furstenberg People’s Voice Award. The awards, created in 2010 by Diane von Furstenberg and the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, recognize and support women who “are using their resources, commitment and visibility to transform the lives of other women. These are women who have had the courage to fight, the power to survive and the leadership to inspire.” The winner is chosen by popular vote. The five finalists for this award are presented online and then voted on by the public. Honorees receive $50,000 to support their organization. Vote here.
