You’ve probably noticed more than a few idled construction sites across the neighborhood are showing signs of life, as the hobbled economy slowly recovers. With this reality in mind, there’s an information fair coming up later this week for anyone considering a career in the construction industry. It’s going to be held Thursday at 530pm, in the community room at the Rutgers Houses, 200 Madison Street. It’s not the place to find a job in the short-term, but rather an opportunity to learn about the skills needed and the resources available to prepare for employment in one of the city’s biggest fields. There will be presentations from Gouverneur Hospital, NYCHA, Building Works and the Port Authority. The fair is sponsored by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and the LES Employment Network
