Brave Filmmaker/Writer/Actor and all-around artiste John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Shortbus) will be on hand at the Sunshine Cinema this Saturday for two Q&A events after screenings of his new film, Rabbit Hole. The film’s heavy-hitting cast includes Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart as a couple grieving after the death of their young son; Diane Wiest and Sandra Oh round out the cast. Rabbit Hole was originally a Tony and Pulitzer-winning play with a successful Broadway run in 2006 (starring Cynthia Nixon and John Slattery). Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire was approached to adapt it for the screen by none other than Ms. Kidman. According to an interview with the Sunshine, the topic struck an immediate chord with Cameron Mitchell, who lost one of his brothers in childhood, and he knew he had to direct it. John Cameron Mitchell will be at the 7:05p screening and the 9:30p screening on Saturday // $13 // 143 East Houston Street.
