Eater gets a look at the “foodie stoner” menu being offered at Imperial Tavern, the successor to Paladar on Ludlow Street. The Superdive team says they’re bestowing upon the Lower East Side “the right restaurant at the right time,” a cross between the Ear Inn and Minetta Tavern. There’s a casual front room and a fancier (imagine a more youthful Waverly Inn) back dining room. The bar menu includes: bbq ribs, roasted bone marrow and mac and cheese. Depending on your point of view, this news is either reason to perk up or jump off the roof — following yesterday’s revelations that Ludlow Street favorites Max Fish and Pink Pony are shuttering.
