We stopped by the Bowery Mission yesterday afternoon, where more than 700 volunteers were making Thanksgiving a little bit brighter for New Yorkers in need. The historic chapel became a large dining hall. There was entertainment and 1100 new winter coats were distributed. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and television personality Sandra Lee were among those volunteering. The Bowery Mission served about 2000 meals yesterday.
