Brooklyn’s Harper Blynn produce an extremely potent form of catchy power-pop. Their album “Loneliest Generation,” produced by David Kahne, has so many layers of harmonies, organs, and percussion toys that every listen has your head bopping to a new discovery every time. Playing Rockwood’s fantastic not-so-new-anymore 2nd Stage Room, they share the night with the songsmith James Maddock and funk-soul group The Lifted Crew .

Drag Cabaret legend Joey Arias ends his nearly 10 year hiatus from the NY concert stage with a series of blow-out performances at the Abrons Arts Center. Backed by a live band, conducted by jazz heavy Ben Allison, Joey will turn out plenty of old school favorites, along with some new originals, and a few sly twists and turns along the way.

Jumping from 70’s era L.A.-Latin style tunes like “Descarga Numero Uno” to gentle lullabies like “Tishomingo Blues,” the band sways through deep satisfying grooves, perfect for the late-night listening encounter. Supported by Andrew Borger on the drums and Tim Lutzel on bass, the native Brazilian takes you down musical roads that covering every corner of the globe.
