A few neighborhood food notes to pass along:
- It’s going to be quite a weekend for noshing on the Lower East Side. Saturday the Hester Street Fair brings us the Grub Street Food festival — and Sunday is NYC International Pickle Day. More on pickle day later. But to tide you over, Russ & Daughters’ web site is talking up pickling all week long. Today’s topic: pickled lox!
- We had the scoop on “Fat Radish” yesterday.  Via their Facebook page we learn the restaurant at 17 Orchard Street officially opens tonight.
- Fontanas is throwing a “Mad Men” finale party. There will be prizes for the best dressed and, of course, classic cocktails.
- And you can now eat lunch at Casa Mezcal. Among the specialties: huevos a La mexicana, omelet de nopales and tacos variados y muchõ mas.
