Edward Kohn, the author of the “Great Heat Wave of 1896,” has been getting lots of media exposure. A couple of days ago, he visited Jon Stewart on the Daily Show, discussing “Theodore Roosevelt’s bold move to save the lives of poor people on the Lower East Side.”
