CB3 Sponsors Small Business Forum September 16th

Must Read

Community Board 3, with the help of city agencies and elected officials, is holding a small business forum next month. The event – geared towards “surviving the economic downturn,” will include information about available government resources, small business financing options and consulting services.

There will be presentations from the city’s Small Business Services office, the NYC Economic Development Corp., the U.S. Small Business Administration and Con Edison. The forum will also provide an opportunity for business owners to talk about some of the specific difficulties they’re facing — including high rents, the difficulty of obtaining financing and escalating property taxes.

If you’re a small business owner, CB3 would like to hear about your concerns and questions in advance of the event. You can email your feedback to: Smallbusinesstownhall@cb3manhattan.org

The forum is co-sponsored by: Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, State Senator Daniel Squadron, State Senator Thomas Duane, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, Assembly Member Deborah Glick, Assembly Member Brian Kavanagh, Councilmember Rosie Mendez; Councilmember Margaret Chin, the Lower East Side Business Improvement District and Loisaida, Inc.

It will be held September 16th, 8-10am at Cooper Union, Rose Auditorium, 41 Cooper Square.
