Patrick Hedlund of DNA Info reports residents were briefly allowed inside their apartments yesterday to gather clothes, valuables and other small items. Trigger,  owner of East Village bar the Continental, said his fifth floor apartment is badly damaged. “It sounds like I won’t be back here for months,” he said. One couple, residents of a second floor unit, found their cat safe and sound in the apartment.

EV Grieve says a ground floor business, Discovery Wines, is back open.
